Visit in person

You'll find our church warm, accepting, inviting and casual atmosphere. When you visit you will have an opportunity to meet our pastor and his wife, Plus we will have a gift for you that includes a welcome booklet with more information to get you started in discovering our church.

Come again

It often takes 3-6 weeks to get a true feel about any church when searching for a new church home. We hope you will plan on attending for at least 3 or more weeks to get to know us, and to give us a chance to get to know you. Our hope is that by that time, you will find your home here with us.

Meet our pastor

Make sure to stop and say hi to Pastor Dave and Missy after service. They always enjoy getting to know new people. Or stop by the office during office hours and say hi anytime.

Take the next step

Once you have gotten to know us and feel at home here, be ready to take the next step in your journey here at PNC. Take time to review the sections below and then ask for a "Step 1" booklet at our welcome center when you come in the next Sunday.

PNC Kids

PNC Kids is a fun and engaging atmosphere for kids, birth through 5th grade, and is designed to help kids get to know Jesus one story at a time. The bible lessons, songs, and stories are catered to each age group in a way that is easy for them to understand and relate to.

Children's Church

We practice intergenerational worship. Your children will sit with you during the first part of our 10 AM worship service, during that time they will participate in singing and the reading of scripture. After offering is collected, they will head downstairs for Children's Church with our children's leaders for planned fun activities, singing, and a relatable Bible story made especially for them.

Awana Clubs

Wednesdays at 4:00PM are Awana Days @ PNC. The mission of Awana is to equip leaders to reach kids with the gospel and to engage them in lifelong discipleship. Awana Clubbers learn and memorize scripture, and are taught from a solid biblical foundation. We currently offer both the Sparks and Truth & Training (T&T) Clubs. Clubs run from September through April. It's not too late to enroll. For more information or to enroll your kiddos today please contact us by filling out the form below.

Ways to Help

There are many ways to get involved here at PNC. From helping in children's ministry, youth, worship, technology, adult ministries, missions, and more. The sky is the limit. Do you have a good idea about a new ministry you may want to start. Let us know. We endeavor to empower people to serve the Lord and make a difference here at PNC.

Ways you can serve.

There are many ways to serve in ministry.
•  Servant Leader ... Serving on the worship team, tech team, janitorial, kids ministry, class teacher, etc.
•  Ministry Leader ... Leading a ministry team, organizing volunteers, setting schedules, etc.
•  Lay Minister ... Leading discipleship groups, teaching, preaching, visitation, and other pastoral tasks.
•  Calling to Ordained Pastoral Ministry ... Learn more by clicking on "going deeper" below

As you can see, serving in ministry runs the gamut of various types of ministry from low involvement to high investment. No matter what, there is a place where you can serve.

Take the Next Step

When you are ready to be more involved in the life of your new church family, so will we. See the pastor and ask for a "Step 2" booklet the next Sunday to learn more about taking the next steps here at PNC.

Discipleship

Pleasanton Nazarene Church is about making disciples, nut just feeding sheep. Joining a discipleship group is an essential part of going deeper in your faith journey here at PNC. Sunday School and Wednesday Night Bible studies are times where we study the Word in a low-key settings where conversation is encouraged, and it's ok to ask questions and seek answers about the Bible. Come along with us as we discover truth together.

Fellowship

Community is an important part of our DNA. Fellowship is about being part of a big extended family, snd there are many opportunities to participate in church activities, such as community events, our annual Block Party or during monthly fellowship events and dinners.

Baptism

Being ready to take the next step in your faith toward baptism is a very exciting prospect. Baptism is the outward expression of the inward change and growth that God has done in the life of the believer. It is also a step of obedience and growing even closer to God by entering into a deeper commitment with the Lord. If you are ready to consider baptism, fill out a connection card and check off the baptism box, or contact the pastor today.

Membership

Becoming a member of the Church of the Nazarene is not joining a social club. By entering into membership, you are covenanting with this local church as well as the whole Church that you commit to the support of the church and its ministries, its mission, its vision, and its people, spiritually, financially, and personally. You become an integral and active part of our family. When you are ready to discuss becoming a member, then see the pastor or fill out a connect card and we will give you a "Step 3" booklet and get you scheduled for our next membership luncheon.

Calling to Ministry

Have you been experiencing a prompting from God to be more involved in vocational ministry work as an ordained minister. There is more that you can do. Come meet with the pastor and let's talk. God loves you and wants to use you. Everyone has a calling of one type or another. It's up to you to prayerfully pursue God's calling on your life.

What that looks like:

•  Pastor ... Leading as a pastor of a church or over a ministry area (such as a youth pastor, etc.)

•  Evangelist ... Travelling to churches, camp, and revival meetings to preach the gospel and call for revival.

•  Missionary ... Being a minister to other nations and people groups in areas all over the world.

God does not call the qualified, he qualifies the called. Will you answer the call.

How to Know Jesus

1. Recognize that God loves you and has a plan for your life.

His love includes you.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

He has new life for you.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full" (John 10:10).

2. Recognize that sin separates you from God and others.

"Sin" is walking our own way in rebellion against God's will. When we walk away from God, we walk away from life.

Everyone has sinned.

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

Sin brings death.

"For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).

Our own efforts cannot save us.
As sinners we futilely try to find life's true meaning in the wrong ways and places.

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-not by works, so that no one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9).

3. Recognize that Jesus Christ died and rose again for our sins.

Jesus Christ died in our place.
"But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

He is the way to new life.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

He gives inner peace.
"We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ" (Romans 5:1).

He gives freedom.
"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36).

He gives eternal life.
"But the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

4. You must repent and ask God for forgiveness.

Admit and confess your sins to God.

"He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy" (Proverbs 28:13).

Repentance means:
•  To acknowledge your sins.
•  To be sorry for your sins.
•  To confess your sins.
•  To be willing to forsake your sins.
•  To have your life changed by Christ.

Forgiveness is promised.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

5. Place your trust in Christ and receive Him as your Savior.

Christ is ready.
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will go in" (Revelation 3:20).

Receive him now.
"Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God" (John 1:12).

Pray this prayer:

Lord Jesus, I want to have life. I know that I have sinned. I need Your forgiveness and pardon. I believe that You died and rose again for my sins. I now accept You as my personal Savior. I will forsake my sinful life. I know that Your grace and power will enable me to live for You. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me and for giving me a new life.

For help in living a meaningful life in Christ:

•  Be assured of Christ's forgiveness.
•  Read your Bible and pray daily.
•  Join a bible based church community.
•  Become a vital part of that church.
•  Share your faith with others.

Helping the Lost find Jesus

Evangelism doesn't have to be complicated or scary. There are many things that you can do that are easy and relational ways to reach others

#1... Pray

Intentionally pray for the people who you know need Jesus. We have "My 5" evangelism prayer cards available at the welcome center to help guide you in praying for them. As you pray for them God will lay on your heart more specific things to pray for them about.

#2... Befriend

Evangelism happens best within the context of relationship. Spend time with the people whom God has laid upon your heart and get to know them, let them get to know you, go to their kids sports games, have dinner with them, and do stuff together. When the time is right God will help you share the gospel with them.

#3... Invite

Evangelism can be as easy as inviting a friend, family member, or coworker to come to church with you, or attend a bible study. Do you know someone that is reluctant about going to church, invite them to a fellowship night instead.
